A MariaDB/MySQL-wire-compatible SQL engine, written in Rust.
Speaks the wire protocol your existing MySQL clients and tools already use.
SIMD dispatch at startup (AVX2 → SSE2 → scalar) for column scans and predicate evaluation.
Snapshot isolation with per-row version tracking and a first-committer-wins conflict check — not table-grain locking.
Write-ahead logging with erasure-coded parity, fsync-backed durability, and point-in-time recovery.
Leader election, lease-based fencing and semisynchronous replication with two-phase commit finalization.
A web UI for running SQL, inspecting query plans, and watching live server metrics.
Dual-licensed, same model as Runbound: AGPL-3.0 for self-hosted, open-source and academic use; a commercial license for organizations that need to deploy without AGPL obligations.
RunAlexDB has been through repeated rounds of internal and adversarial AI-assisted security review (concurrency, durability, replication, network surface), with every finding tracked and fixed or explicitly accepted. It has not yet undergone an external human security audit. Not recommended for production handling sensitive traffic until v1.0.
